Who wants to acquire land for a home in Germany, had to pay an average of 164 euros per square meter in 2016. This is what the Federal Institute for Construction, Urban and Regional Research has discovered, which analysed data from one third of all cities and districts in Germany.
In 2011, the price per square meter was still at an average of 129 Euro. In large cities, the price per square meter rose from 250 to 350 Euros, in the main cities of the cities from 132 to 156 Euros and in the rural districts from 64 to 78 Euros. This development is not only an impact of the cost of home ownership, but also the rental price in new buildings.
